If you carry TWIA windstorm coverage, roof work needs to comply with windstorm building standards and be certified — the WPI-8 process. It affects how the roof is fastened and documented, and it's one of the first things we'll walk through when you call.
Near the bayou and the bay, yes. Ordinary fasteners and flashing corrode years early in salt air, which is how roofs fail from the edges in. We spec corrosion-resistant components on water-side homes as standard — and metal roofing often earns its price there over 30 years. We'll quote options honestly.
It's the certificate showing roof work in designated coastal areas complied with windstorm building standards. If you carry TWIA windstorm coverage, you need the work done to those standards for the coverage to be solid. It's a normal part of coastal roofs, and we handle it with you.
Most Hitchcock homes are torn off, rebuilt, and cleaned up in 1–2 days with one dedicated crew — including a full magnet sweep of the yard before we leave.
